Mary Potter Hospice

The Mary Potter Hospice relies on the financial support made possible by donations

to The Mary Potter Foundation

Established in 1976, the Mary Potter Hospice has developed an exceptional reputation in palliative care for people with terminal illnesses, made possible by the skilled and dedicated services provided by all staff and volunteers.

The 15 bed unit is comprised of 15 individual rooms with ensuites. Every room has outdoor access to garden areas. There are two communal lounge areas and a fully-stocked kitchen available for all patients, families and visitors. A chapel is open 24 hours a day for prayer or quiet contemplation.

ADMISSION INFORMATION

Admission to Mary Potter Hospice is for private patients with life-limiting illnesses whose care-needs require specialist palliative care management.

Care is provided by a multi-disciplinary team which is comprised of doctors, nurses, social workers, allied health and pastoral care.

In order to be considered for admission, a patient must have a referral from a general practitioner or specialist.

VISITING HOURS

The Hospice does not have fixed visiting hours.

We encourage patients to visit with family and friends as they wish - at any time of the day or night.

The number of visitors and time of visiting may be restricted depending on the patient's clinical requirements and consideration of other patients in the area.

If you are planning to visit a patient, we recommend that you contact the Hospice on  8239 9144 or liaise with the patient or family directly to determine whether they are feeling up to the visit.
