Each Christmas, we light up the lights on the Loving Tree to remember our loved ones and to shine a light on those in our care.

The Loving Tree stands at the entrance to Mary Potter Hospice and in December every year, it is lit up for 40 nights with thousands of twinkling lights as a symbol of love for those we wish to remember with love at Christmas.

You can give the most precious gift by dedicating a light on our Loving Tree. It is a beautiful way to celebrate the life of someone special at this time of year.

Not only will you shine a light on someone you love, but your gift will also support one of the many patients and families who will spend their Christmas in our care.

We would be so honoured to have your loved one remembered this year.

LOVING TREE LOCATION

You are welcome to visit the Loving Tree in person to view the lights and see the hundreds of names in our Remembrance Book being honoured this Christmas.

The lights will be switched on for the first time on the 4 December 2024 and will remain lit until 13 January 2025.

The Loving Tree is located at the entrance to Mary Potter Hospice

2024 LIGHTING OF THE LOVING TREE AND CHRISTMAS CAROLS CONCERT

On Wednesday 4 December 2024, we will bring the Loving Tree community together once again, to honour and celebrate those that are loved and missed at Christmas.

Our annual Christmas Carols Concert will be held once again at the St Francis Xavier Cathedral, exclusively for those who make a donation or dedicate a light on our Loving Tree.

The concert will feature performances from the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra's Brass Ensemble, with carolling led by the Adelaide Vocal Union, St Peter's Woodlands School Choir, Lift Choir and Deborah Caddy.

At the Loving Tree Carols Concert, we display the Lighting of the Loving Tree video, which will be made available to watch on this website on 5 December 2024.

Those who dedicated a light on or before Friday 22 November will have their loved one's name appear in our Lighting of the Loving Tree video honour roll.

2020 Loving Tree Christmas Carols

In 2020, event restrictions meant we weren't able to gather as a community to celebrate the Lighting of the Loving Tree.

Our incredible performers came together and filmed the concert, so that it could be available for you to watch and enjoy, as we remember those we love and miss each day.
